Who we are

This website is operated by GJF Inc., trading as Gil Ferrer Salon, 2044 Montauk Hwy, Bridgehampton, NY 11932. You can reach us at desk@gilferrersalon.com or (631) 537-5805.

Information we collect

Most of what we hold is information you give us directly: the details you enter into our contact, careers or wedding-details forms — such as your name, email address, phone number and any message or files you send. We use this information to reply to you and to provide the service you asked about. If you become a client, we also keep a service record for you, described below.

Client profiles and photographs

If you are a client, we keep a profile for you in our salon management app so that your stylist can prepare for your appointment. It holds your contact details, your appointment history, and the technical notes that matter for repeat work — color formulas, timings, and the cuts and finishes you have had. It may also hold reference photographs.

A reference photograph may be one taken in the salon with your agreement, or an image that is already publicly available. It is held on your client profile and used by our stylists to prepare for your appointment. We do not use facial recognition, and nothing scans, measures or maps anyone’s face.

We never sell your photographs, and we do not publish or share them outside the salon — with one exception. Where you have given us your written consent at your appointment, we may show your hair and/or face in our own work: on this website, in the salon, or on our social media. That is the only circumstance in which an image of you leaves the salon, the consent is always yours to give or withhold, and you can ask us to stop using an image at any time.

You are in control of this. You may ask to see everything held on your profile, ask us not to keep photographs on it, or ask us to remove any image at any time. Tell your stylist, or email desk@gilferrersalon.com, and we will take care of it. Asking will never affect the service you receive.

Appointments, forms, gift cards and payments

Online booking runs on the salon’s own booking system at book.gilferrersalon.com. When you book there, or through the chat on this site, we collect the name and phone number (and email address, if you give one) needed to hold the appointment and to contact you about it, and the appointment is added to your client profile as described above. Our contact, careers and wedding-details forms are delivered to our inbox by Resend, an email delivery service, which handles your message only in order to deliver it; the website itself keeps no copy.

Gift cards and payments are handled by Square. When you buy, reload or check the balance of a gift card you go to Square’s website, and any information you enter there is collected and processed by Square under their own privacy policy. Payments in the salon are also processed by Square.

Website chat

The chat window on this site is an automated assistant, not a person. What you type is sent to our booking system, which uses Claude, an artificial-intelligence service provided by Anthropic, to understand your message and write the reply. Anthropic processes these messages under its own privacy policy and, under our agreement with it, does not use them to train its models. Our booking system holds the conversation only while you are chatting and discards it after about thirty minutes of inactivity; we do not keep transcripts. If you use the chat to book, change or cancel an appointment, the assistant will ask for the name and phone number on the booking, and those details are handled exactly as a booking made on our booking page. Please do not enter payment card details or other sensitive information in the chat; the assistant never needs them. Like any automated assistant it can make mistakes, so please check the confirmation you receive.

Cookies and analytics

This website uses Google Analytics to understand how visitors find and use it: which pages are viewed, roughly where visitors come from (for example a search engine or Instagram), and which links are clicked. Google Analytics sets cookies to tell repeat visits apart and uses your IP address to work out your approximate location; it does not store the address. We use this only to improve the website, not for advertising. How Google handles this data is described in its privacy policy. You can opt out by installing Google’s Analytics opt-out browser add-on or by blocking cookies in your browser; the website works the same either way.

Embedded content

Our contact page embeds a Google Map, and our fonts are served by Google Fonts. These services may receive your IP address in order to deliver that content.

How long we keep information

We keep form submissions only as long as needed to respond to your inquiry and to keep a reasonable business record. Client profiles, including any photographs, are kept while you remain a client of the salon and are deleted on request.

Your rights

You may ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Please contact us at desk@gilferrersalon.com and we will respond as promptly as we can.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page.
